Goodbye Midtown, hello Downtown!
Back in May we mentioned that publishing giant Conde Nast was mulling over the idea of moving their office from 4 Times Square all the way down to 1 World Trade Center.
Now it looks like they’re one step closer to making downtown New York their new home because they’ve reached a tentative deal to take over a third of the building.
Conde Nast’s CFO John Bellando sent out a letter to all employees that the company is “in active discussions regarding 1 World Trade Center” and has “been evaluating real estate opportunities that would allow us to house all our brands in a single, state-of-the-art headquarters.”
But employees won’t have to pack their things just yet. Bellando noted that a final decision is months away and a move is unlikely before 2014.
The tower is expected to be finished in 2013 and as of yet no one has officially signed a lease.
