Constance Wu Was 'So Scared' To Return To 'Fresh Off The Boat' After Her 'F**king Hell' Twitter Controversy!

Constance Wu was scared to return to Fresh off the Boat.

Constance Wu feels seen by her Fresh Off the Boat family!

As we reported, the actress made headlines back in May when she tweeted out a shocking reaction to the news of her hit ABC series renewal, writing:

“So upset right now that I’m literally crying. Ugh. F**k… F**king hell.”

The 37-year-old star eventually clarified her comments, explaining she was “temporarily upset” because she “had to give up another project that [she] was really passionate about.”

But by that point, the public’s perception of her had already changed for the worse. Soon after, rumors of the Golden Globe nominee’s alleged diva-like behavior started hitting the interwebs, with one damning report calling her the “most hated” person on the FOtB set.

The fallout was so intense, Constance recently admitted she was nervous to return to the show’s set to shoot Season 6 — because she feared the cast and crew actually hated her!

In a interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the screening of her new film Hustlers earlier this month, the actress said she was “so scared” to return to filming, confessing:

“The public was so pissed off at me that I assumed [my castmates] were, too.”

Fortunately, the Virginia native was met with an “outpouring of support” when she returned, telling the outlet:

“It was heartening to know that the me that I represent in life is seen, whereas the me that I represent in tweets is [also] seen — but it’s not the whole story.”

The Crazy Rich Asians star explained she apologized to costar Hudson Yang, who plays her character Jessica Huang’s oldest son, when they returned to set — but the child actor said she had nothing to apologize for.

She recalled:

“When we first had our gallery shoot coming back, I talked to [Hudson]. I said, ‘Hey, I don’t know if this affected you, but I am sorry if it did affect you. And I want you to know that it’s not a reflection about how I feel about you or the show.’ …And he was just like, ‘Constance, no, we love you. It’s okay, don’t worry about it. We know you.’ I started crying. It was actually really moving.”

Awww!

She added of the incident:

“It was a lot of humble pie to eat, but I am really glad for it.”

Good to hear she learned something from this f**king hell of a controversy!
