Kiefer Sutherland returned to L.A. this week for the early preview of the 24 season finale. And his costars spoke up for him to reporters at the event on Wednesday night, praising him as a great actor and friend.
Among his defenders was long time cast member Carlos Bernard, who referred to Sutherland as “a great guy” and “courteous” to others when the two frequently hang out outside the show.
Others were also on the defense for their beloved Jack Bauer, like Mary Lynn Rajskub, who plays Bauer’s techie side-kick Chloe: “Kiefer has his own way of doing things, and he has his own energy, and he is awesome.”
A decision has yet to be made if the charges against Sutherland will affect his probation from his 2007 DUI, but at least he is getting by with a little help from his friends.
Kiefer did not defend himself to reporters, however, as they were asked not to question him about the matter.
Smooth move there publicists!
