Everyone knows how much you SHOULD work out during the week, but, some clever people out there are asking a different question:
What is the minimum we have to do to get into shape?
Turns out, bursts of 1 minute high-activity intervals with periods of resting… for twenty minutes… TWO TIMES A WEEK!
Here’s what you do:
This modified routine involved one minute of strenuous effort, at about 90 percent of a person’s maximum heart rate (which most of us can estimate, very roughly, by subtracting our age from 220), followed by one minute of easy recovery. The effort and recovery are repeated 10 times, for a total of 20 minutes.
Not only that, guys, but it can help if you have diabetes!
They decided to do a follow-up experiment with people who had Type 2 diabetes. What’d they find? That the 1 minute hard, 1 minute easy, repeated 10 times helped regulate blood sugar — throughout the FOLLOWING day!
Incredible!
This is something we HAVE to try! It’ll save so much time!
