A standout member of the rodeo community has sadly passed away.
Rising cowgirl Valeria Mireles, who boasted nearly 100,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, sadly died at just 20 years old on Monday in the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo León. Her parents confirmed the news to Mexican news outlet N+, but only asked for privacy in lieu of offering details. However, several outlets have been reporting the young woman died in a car crash.
So heartbreaking…
The Mexican Rodeo Federation offered their condolences in a lengthy statement on Facebook on Monday. They wrote:
“Valeria was more than a rodeo queen; she was an ambassador of cowboy culture, an inspiration to many young women. Her smile lit up every arena, and her passion for rodeo was contagious. Although her passing leaves a void, her legacy will live on in our hearts and in the memory of rodeo.”
So, so sad. Our hearts are with her loved ones. Rest in peace.
