Someone please give Kevin Scruggs a ‘Dad Of The Year’ award, please!
The proud Washington father is touching hearts all over the world after sharing a sweet video compilation of his daughter’s first days of school. The four minute vid went live on YouTube exactly one a week ago on May 23.
With Father’s Day just a little over two weeks away, this is exactly the kind of feel good story we all need to hear!

The viral video opens with a statement explaining Scruggs has been interviewing his now 18-year-old daughter, Madison Scruggs, on her first day of school for “the last 13 years.” This year, she graduates!
The screen then fades to black and transitions into Madison’s first interview from Kindergarten.
The young and excited kindergartener tells her dad that she’s more than excited for what’s to come after a successful first day at school.
Kevin: “Did you like Kindergarten? Do you want to go back?”
Madison: “Every day!”
From there, the interviews continue on — documenting Madison’s growing interest in school while Kevin presumably beams with pride on the other side of the camera.
By the time we get to the teenager’s senior year of high school though, she’s a lot less enthused about spending her days in the classroom.
Kevin: “What was your most favorite thing you did today at school?”
Madison: “Uh… leave. I was kind of done.”
The exchange was laced with the cheeky, sarcastic humor we’d expect from an 18-year-old ready to spread her wings and explore the world.
And it did exactly what Kevin had intended to do — show just how much his daughter has evolved through the years!

Since being published online last week, Madison’s video has racked up over 90,000 views! Many viewers have tweeted out their love and appreciation for the touching video. But this isn’t the first time Kevin has shared a sweet family memory!
Back in 2017, Kevin posted his other daughter McKenzie Scrugg’s first day of school interviews, which you can check out HERE.
The proud father explained his decision to create a similar compilation vid for both girls to Good Morning America, saying:
“I thought it would be cool when they graduate to them to see their whole career in one short clip.”
Stellar idea, Kevin! His daughter Madison agreed with that sentiment, too, telling the outlet:
“It was [also] cool to see my personality change. I’m really appreciative of how much time my dad put into it, how much he loves us and how much he and my mom do for us.”
According to GMA, Madison will graduate from Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale, Washington next month and has plans to study business management at Grand Canyon University in Arizona.
With all the love and support she’s received from her dad over the years, we’re confident the young woman is prepared to tackle college and beyond!
