Now that Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have split up for good this time, the 35-year-old actress is taking a not-so-subtle shot across the bow by revealing her dating must-haves in a brand-new interview!
On Monday, Dakota and her Materialists costar Chris Evans sat for a chat on the Today Show. And when it came time for host Craig Melvin to ask the two stars of the upcoming rom com about their own IRL personal dating non-negotiables, DJ got uncomfortably candid!

Melvin queried the A-lister about her dating requirements, and Dakota had nothin’ but a very simple one:
“Like, not an a-hole.”
Annnnd that was it. Nothing else!
The 46-year-old daytime TV host caught the humor in Dakota’s candid statement:
“That’s concise. That’s the only non-negotiable? That was nail on the head.”
Concise, indeed! And also super telling in a frank way the days-old news of her split from the Coldplay frontman. Like, big yikes, Chris! WTF were you doing behind the scenes that made Dakota so confidently answer with that when asked???? (We have heard a few things…)
The Splitsville star’s telling comment was then made even funnier because Chris followed it up with his own completely innocent non-negotiable:
“Must love dogs. Gotta love dogs. If you’re not a dog person, what are we doing?”
Ha! Both of these are so easy! You could totally put them on a dating profile. “Seeking incredible sexy brunette movie star. Must love dogs. Not an a-hole.” Ha!

FWIW, this ain’t the first time Dakota and the rock star have gone through a breakup. And it never lasted before.
So… time will tell if the same scenario plays out this time around, or if Dakota really is done! Judging by her comment here, we think we may know the answer. Just saying…
