dwts semifinals recap frankie victoria
Can you believe the semifinals have already come and gone on Dancing With The Stars??
And the remaining stars were tasked with quite the challenge as the contestants and their partners were required to perform not one, but TWO numbers on Monday evening. For the first dance, the pros choreographed routines which honored their partners. As for the second showing?? Well, the duos were given iconic numbers to perform from DWTS‘ long history.

No pressure, right?? LOLz!!
While some couples showed incredible improvement, it wasn’t necessarily enough to save ONE fan favorite pairing. Trying to figure out who went home?? Discover that AND HIGHlights from Monday night’s episode (below)…
Val Chmerkovskiy had us grabbing for the tissues as he honored Victoria Arlen‘s parents by choreographing a moving contemporary routine. The pair, along with pro Jenna Johnson, won over the judges with their emotional routine as the panel granted them 9s across the board.

For their iconic routine, the duo took on Amber Riley and Derek Hough‘s memorable Charleston number. The attempt at recreating this DWTS moment resulted in two perfect 10s for Victoria — a first for this season. In total, they nabbed an additional 29 points.

Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas stayed at the top of the leaderboard as their first routine was a dark, passionate contemporary number — that the judges just LOVED. The routine, inspired by Stirling’s obstacles in life, resulted in a score of 29.

They later tackled Meryl Davis and Maksim Chermkovskiy‘s season 18 tango. Although they couldn’t recreate Meryl and Maks’ sexual tension, they still nabbed an additional 28 points.

Frontrunners Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold REALLY stepped up their game, as the twosome danced through a knee injury. While the judges weren’t in love with Fisher’s performance in the Argentine tango inspired by his relationship with his brother, they refused to give the pair anything less than 9s. The duo were granted a 28.

Fisher and Arnold won the judges back with their iconic jive, originally made famous by Paige VanZant and Ballas. The twosome nailed the routine as they grabbed their FIFTH perfect score of the season.

We’re not really sure how Frankie Muniz is still in this competition. The Malcolm In The Middle actor left us, and the judges, feeling underwhelmed with a salsa number alongside partner Witney Carson. They only scored a 25.

Things didn’t improve by much when Witney and Frankie attempted to recreate Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough‘s season four paso doble. They were given an additional 26 points.

Amid our shock that Muniz is still in the competition, we’re also more than floored that Drew Scott hasn’t been given the boot. Although the HGTV star has a lot of passion, he just can’t dance. Following a Scottish-inspired dance, the judges gave Scott and his partner Emma Slater a score of 24.

Drew and Emma were given an additional 24 points after they tried, and failed, to recreate Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff‘s iconic jazz number. Oof.

At the end of the night, Victoria and Val were on the chopping block, along with Frankie and Witney. Ultimately, Victoria and Val were the ones eliminated. See it go down for yourself (below).
