After two weeks of double episodes, yesterday saw the first performance and elimination night for this season of Dancing With the Stars!
Kevin Hart joined the judging panel for “Movie Night” where each celeb picked a song from their favorite movie and/or Disney staple.
Kevin had a little help in the form of Frozen‘s Josh Gad as they did a quick opening number set to Grease!
For the second week in a row, Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy gave our favorite performance of the night!
Only this time, the judges actually agreed with us and gave their West Side Story Jazz the first perfect score of the season:
But Janel wasn’t alone. Bethany Mota and Derek Hough‘s ode to Singing in the Rain earned them the second perfect 40, while Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd scored their first 10 too.

However, the best moment from last night’s episode wasn’t a dance at all.
It was actually this throwback to Derek dancing to Gene Kelly‘s classic as a young kid:
Jonathan Bennett, Sadie Robertson, and Alfonso Ribeiro rounded out the Top 6, while Betsey Johnson and Michael Waltrip brought up the rear — but it was actually Randy Couture who saw his dream of winning the Mirrorball Trophy crushed last night.
And we’re actually a little bummed about it, because he was definitely not our least favorite dancer up there.
But hey, as long as Val and Janel are around, we’re happy!
