Move over, Meghan Markle! There’s a new duchess in town!
As we reported, days after finalizing her divorce to her husband of less than a year, Marty Caffrey, Danielle Staub is “very much in love” with businessman Oliver Maier.
Well, according to People on Thursday, the RHONJ star is ENGAGED and is going to get married soon!

Apparently, Maier proposed early Thursday morning while the two visited the Cheval Blanc maison in St. Barths.
Once they fly back to the States, they will pick up her ring at Van Cleef, and will tie the knot on Monday at a ceremony at the Justice of the Peace in New York City. Co-star Teresa Giudice is expected to be in attendance.
Staub told the publication:
“I’m madly in love… I’m feeling elated and excited for the next stage of my life. I’m going to marry the man of my possible dreams and hopefully I’ll spend the rest of my life in bliss.”
Because Maier is reportedly the Duke of Provence — something Danielle says she didn’t know about until recently — Staub will become a duchess!
Additionally, he says his family owns 15 vineyards in the South of France as well as two castles.
Although the two met in October through a mutual friend whom Maier was dating at the time, the 56-year-old “quite frankly couldn’t stand him when [she] first met him,” explaining:
“He’s so strong-willed, and at first, I read that as rude, and arrogant and entitled. It wasn’t until I got to know him that I saw the other side.”
After pursuing her for weeks, he finally went in for a kiss at the Baccarat hotel in NYC this month. She recalled:
“In that moment I said, ‘Wow’… I still tried to push it off, but as the weeks went on, he did not let off the throttle, and he pursued me adamantly. And he got what he wanted. We fell madly in love.'”
Then, Maier “took a risk” when he took her to St. Barths, where their romance blossomed. He said:
“People don’t like to take a risk, but I took a risk… Danielle’s one of the smartest people I’ve met. People have preconceived notions about her from reality TV, but she’s a smart women. And I was instantly attracted to that.”
But what about their mutual friend who he dated? Maier blames himself for that fiasco!
“I didn’t intend for it to happen that way, it’s my mistake. If you have to blame it on someone, blame it on me, not Danielle… I care about Danielle. She’s phenomenal, comes from a good family and is beautiful beyond belief. I’m happy we’re together.”
Maier was previously married once, and shares a 12½-year-old child with his ex-wife.
This will be Staub’s fourth marriage, and 21st engagement. She joked to the publication:
“Here we go again.”
The two plan on living in NYC, though Staub wants to purchase a home in New Jersey for her daughters.
“Most likely we’ll be spending a lot of time in France… We’ll be going to castles and all that, and living in Paris for a certain amount of months out of the year… It’s going to be far different than Jersey, that’s for sure.”
