Darren Aronofsky Is NOT Doing Judy Garland Biopic

Disappointing!
Darren Aronofsky confirmed on his Twitter Wednesday that he will NOT be directing the new Judy Garland biopic starring Anne Hathaway.
He wrote this simple message:

judy garland story is not true

We were a bit skeptical considering the material he’s used to making (e.g. The Black Swan, The Wrestler), but we were intrigued to see how he would interpret Queen Garland.
It definitely would have taken a dark turn somewhere in there!
On second thought, maybe it’s for the best…
We’re still Team Anne though! So glad to be hearing ANY kind of news about this regardless! We thought maybe this movie was doomed. DOOMED!!!!
