Ever since Dave Grohl had another confession to make on Tuesday, announcing he had been cheating on his wife and sired a secret love child, we have had questions!
How long has the Foo Fighters frontman’s wife Jordyn Blum known? Did their daughters just learn online? Is the marriage over? Who is this mistress?
Well, we have some more answers now, thanks to a family friend spilling some of the dirty laundry. The anonymous source told DeuxMoi on Wednesday:
“I have known the Grohl family for 18 years and despite what some people are saying, this has come as a huge shock to Jordyn and their daughters. To say we are all upset and disappointed is an understatement.”
We mean, we figured it was a shock. We’re wondering how long ago they were dealt the blow. Did he tell them when he first learned his mistress was pregnant? Apparently it’s been a while. Not just because the Nirvana drummer reportedly already retained a divorce lawyer but according to this insider, he’s already moved out of the house!
“Dave is currently not living in the family home, but instead he is living in a home Jordyn recently renovated for her business.”
Damn! She kicked his ass out! This possible divorce is moving right along! Dave said in his statement he’s “doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.” Guess he’s doing everything he can over Zoom…

OK, so what about this new baby momma?? The source held back on exposing the mistress but did say she was “well known” to “both Dave and Jordyn since 2017.”
Wait, WHAT?! That makes it sound like the mistress was FRIENDS with Jordyn! For a long time, too! Oh, that is so messed up! We had frankly assumed, since he’s a rockstar, that this was a groupie situation. It kinda makes it worse to think it’s a family friend, right? A double betrayal, like Scandoval. Awful.
Innerestingly the friend did show compassion for Dave, pointing out:
“Dave has been struggling with some other issues since his mother and best friend/bandmate died last year.”
Obviously they’re referring to the shocking death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. The source says Dave “has been receiving medical help” and is “struggling with some other ongoing problems.” But they also want to make clear they are not defending his actions — and “none of that can excuse what he has done to his family.”
One good thing? Dave is serious when he pledged to be a real father to the little girl born outside his marriage. The insider said:
“The baby was born a few weeks ago. Dave was not present for the birth but has been to see his daughter multiple times.”
A few weeks. Damn. So how are his other daughters taking it? You know, the ones from his marriage??
“His other daughters have not yet met their sister. His eldest and middle daughters have been understandably struggling with the news.”
Yeah, of course! Violet, 18, and Harper, 15, are old enough to fully understand their father’s betrayal. Not to mention how hard Violet in particular would be hit, as close to Dave as she’s been. No wonder they’ve gone dark. We imagine Ophelia is still a bit young at 10 years old to fully process the news. We hope anyway…
As far as how Dave’s wife is doing? Is she thinking divorce? The source says it’s possible down the road:
“Jordyn is currently focused on her daughters’ well-being at the moment, before she makes any big life decisions… but divorce is definitely looking like an option which is heartbreaking for a woman who dedicate the past 20+ years to her husband.”
The insider added:
“We are all here to support Jordyn. Don’t be surprised if she finally speaks up for herself when the dust settles, but for now, those of us who love and care for her want everyone to know what an incredible wife and mother she is, and more importantly what a wonderful and independent woman she is.”
