Kate Hudson to the rescue?
Ever since Dave Grohl announced earlier this week that he had an affair and a secret love child with his unnamed mistress, all we can think about is how his wife Jordyn Blum is doing. They’ve been married for over 20 years and share three girls together. It’s just heartbreaking, you know?
We’ve already heard reports that Jordyn kicked the rock star outta the house. And despite insisting that he was going to be working on regaining the “trust” and “forgiveness” of his family, the Nirvana drummer reportedly retained a divorce lawyer before going public with this scandal. So, all signs are looking to a legal split. It’s just so sad!

Thankfully, though, Jordyn isn’t left to handle this all on her own. According to DailyMail.com on Thursday, she is leaning on her close friends to get through this controversy, including the Almost Famous alum! An insider told the outlet that “Jordyn is getting major support from one of her besties — Kate Hudson.” That source then added:
“[Hudson] was surprised and disgusted that at Dave’s age he’s still cheating on not only Jordyn, but their girls too.”
But for real, tho…
Sadly, it sounds like the Foo Fighters frontman — dad to Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10 — never really got over this immature infidelity phase… Ugh. So much for being a family man.
So, how is the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star being there for her pal? Well, first off, she’s trying to cheer her up! The confidant noted:
“[She even sent] her a huge basket of balloons with personalized phrases on them including ‘Stay Strong.'”
Very thoughtful! But more importantly, Kate is making herself available to Jordyn for whatever she needs to get through this challenging time — from “a good cry” session to a friend at any hour. The source shared:
“Kate told Jordyn she’s there for her 24/7 and not to hesitate to pick up the phone even if it’s for a good cry or if she needs her to come over for a hug and a heart to heart. Kate would stay with her in a heartbeat if she asked.”
So, so sweet. Just the kinda friend everyone needs!
Because Jordyn is so private, little is known about her inner circle or her friendship with the actress. However, they’ve often been photographed with each other, such as at the Adidas Stella McCartney party in Los Angeles in February 2023. Kate was previously linked to fellow musician Matt Bellamy of the band Muse from 2010 to 2014 (and they share a child), so that could’ve been how the ladies first got connected. If so, they’ve been in each other’s lives a while! No wonder Kate’s “disgusted” and distraught over this turn of events! Nobody wants to see a loved one go through something like this!
We’re glad to hear Jordyn has so much support surrounding her right now. She and her kiddos are gonna need it — especially as they navigate this new chapter of their lives with their dad actively getting involved in his new baby’s life. It’s the stand-up thing to do for the baby, obviously, but it’s gonna be complicated for everyone.
