Dax Shepard made the choice to not spend much time with Kristen Bell on Valentine’s Day.
On Monday’s episode of his Armchair Expert podcast’s Fact Check segment, the 51-year-old talked about how his Valentine’s Day went — but it wasn’t by his wife’s side. While chatting to his cohost Monica Padman, he said he “definitely neglected” the Forgetting Sarah Marshall alum on the romantic holiday… Because he “went all out” for his daughters instead!
The comedian said he made his little ones Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11, his top priority this year:
“My girls are my Valentines. … All my resources went to the little ones.”
But Kristen wasn’t the only one who got neglected! His momma Laura LaBo was in town for the holiday, and she also was left behind:
“She’s been my Valentine for 51 years, so it really becomes a bandwidth [issue].”
Ha!
Dax said Kristen and Laura both “saw that [he] was spending a lot of energy on [his] other two Valentines” — so no hard feelings there. Maybe.

He spent “several hours” getting things ready for his girls, too:
“I know that my daughter loves floaties for the pool, so I got heart-shaped floaties and inflated them and put them in the pool … I made each of them handmade cards where I really drew pictures and then wrote how I feel about them.”

It’s super sweet he is so devoted to his children, but Valentine’s Day is definitely intended for your romantic partner, so we hope Kristen gets a nice make-up day soon! Reactions, Perezcious readers?
