NEW DETAILS: Deadliest Catch Star's Mom Reveals He'd Just Returned From Medical Leave After Getting Injured On Ship!

Deadliest Catch Deckhand Todd Meadows Killed On Alaskan Waters While Filming New Season

Disheartening new information has surfaced after Todd Meadows’ death.

Earlier this week, news broke that the Deadliest Catch deckhand tragically died while out on the Bering Sea on February 25. The US Coast Guard launched an investigation into the matter and revealed the 25-year-old had fallen overboard the Aleutian Lady fishing boat and was stranded at sea for 10 minutes. Despite resuscitation efforts after he was recovered, Todd tragically passed away leaving two young children fatherless and a family devastated.

Now, we’re hearing it had just been a matter of mere WEEKS since he returned to the ship after taking medical leave.

Todd’s mother Angela Meadows spoke to TMZ on Wednesday, revealing the TV star hit his head on the boat about a month ago resulting in a concussion. Per protocol, he got checked out by a doctor, who made the concussion determination and sent him back home to Washington to recover. It was during that week back home that his loved ones last saw him alive. Angela told the outlet:

“The last photo I got of him was when he was building a fire. He was listening to music in the moment and was so happy. That’s how I want to remember him.”

The grieving mother revealed when Todd was finally cleared to return to work, he did so with excitement… only to pass under such tragic circumstances so soon after. How awful.

Todd’s family reportedly does not blame the TV production for his concussion, but Angela made it clear she never wants the footage of his death to see the light of day, as cameras were reportedly rolling at the time. She also demanded some sort of accountability to be taken:

“We don’t want to put the blame on anyone, but someone has to take responsibility. We will have justice for Todd.”

Our hearts continue to be with his loved ones. Rest in peace.
