Savannah Guthrie Returns To Today Show Amid Mom Nancy’s Disappearance

Savannah Guthrie is back at The Today Show.

According to TMZ, the 54-year-old journalist returned to Studio 1A at Rockefeller Center in New York City on Thursday morning for the first time since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared from her Arizona home on February 1. In a video of her return, Savannah is seen hugging several staff and crew members through the window.

She appears to get emotional while talking to everyone at one point, but it’s unknown what she says. We can imagine, just like her husband, Michael Feldman, did when he visited The Today Show last month, she thanked them all for their love and support during this extremely difficult time. Watch the clip (below):

A TODAY spokesperson confirmed to TMZ that Savannah visited her colleagues this morning — and that she does plan to work again at some point:

“Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her TODAY colleagues. While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home.”

Exactly when Savannah will come back to the show is unclear at this time. However, we’ve already heard the reporter would make a comeback as she is “craving normalcy” and knew her 84-year-old mom would want her to return to the Big Apple. Unless something breaks in the case, Savannah reportedly won’t be heading back to Tucson right now. And sadly, she and her family are “coming to terms with the fact that this might take years” before they get any answers about what happened to Nancy. Heartbreaking. It really does sound like this is heading closer and closer toward becoming a cold case, as the FBI and the Guthries fear.

We continue to hope Nancy comes back home, though. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below).
