According to a People report published on Friday, the songstress’ mom Dianna De La Garza was “aware” of her daughter’s struggles, but may have felt powerless to prevent her downfall.
The insider — who used to be in Demi’s inner circle — explained:

“Her mother’s a very sweet person who has zero — when I say zero, she has zero say… I’ve worked with a lot of kids. All those mothers [in Hollywood], become not-mothers. They become slaves to their kids… Demi’s mother was like a slave to her… Anything Demi wanted [she would get]. Even at 16, she’s like, ‘I’m paying the bills of this house, this house is my house.'”

Regardless of the drama, De La Garza “loves her daughter and she really wants her daughter to get better.”
Demi’s fans share the same sentiment.
On Thursday, fans gathered outside a venue in Atlantic City, where the singer was supposed to perform prior to her health scare.
As seen on Twitter, a large group of people begin singing Sober, a ballad where Lovato admits her relapse. In a different video, the crowd performs her hit song Tell Me You Love Me.
According to People on Thursday, Demiis doing okay, but is still being monitored.”
