Demi Lovato Hospitalized After Reported Heroin Overdose

UPDATE 9:58 P.M. EST: It is now being reported that heroin was not involved in the apparent overdose. Read the full story here. This news comes after Lovato’s rep gave an official statement on her health, confirming she is “awake and with her family.”
UPDATE 7:31 P.M. EST: Fans were supposed to see Demi on Tuesday night’s episode of Beat Shazam, but TMZ reports that FOX has pulled the episode, stating: “In light of recent reports, we have decided to replace the episode of BEAT SHAZAM with another all-new episode. Our thoughts go out to Demi and her family.”
UPDATE 6:42 P.M. EST: TMZ says aunt Kerissa Dunn wrote on social media that Demi is “awake and responsive.” However, it appears her Facebook post has been deleted.
UPDATE 6:06 P.M. EST: NBC News sources say Demi is now “stable, alert, and breathing.”
UPDATE 6:01 P.M. EST: Variety reports Demi’s Atlantic City concert, scheduled for July 26, has been canceled.

UPDATE 4:32 P.M. EST: TMZ adds their sources say Demi was treated with Narcan, an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses. They’ve also confirmed the overdose occurred at her home.


Demi Lovato has reportedly been hospitalized after suffering from an apparent heroin overdose.
TMZ reports the singer was transported from a Hollywood Hills home to the hospital on Tuesday right before noon, and she is currently being treated. So far no word on what her condition is right now.

Los Angeles police department spokesperson Raymond Brown only revealed a female victim of a possible overdose was transported to the hospital, but would not confirm her identity. The home officers responded to is on the same block as Demi’s.
As we previously reported, the starlet described her relapse in her most recent track Sober, and has even opened up to fans about her journey.
Demi was meant to be back on the road this week with a show scheduled in Atlantic City.
