Demi Lovato‘s apparent drug overdose came after a night of wild partying.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that some of the pop star’s team were present at her Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday when first responders arrived just before noon, but no one provided information about the drugs that caused her to OD.
Officials learned that the overdose came at the end of a party at Demi’s home that lasted all night. However, the bash was clearly over by the time EMTs and police arrived at the scene, as partygoers where nowhere in sight.

Earlier in the night, Demi was celebrating the birthday of one of her backup dancers at the Saddle Ranch restaurant, and was reported seeming happy and coherent. It’s unclear whether the people who were at her home were part of this group.
As she recovers in the hospital, strict security measures have been set in place to give the former Disney star privacy, with Demi’s entire floor essentially being on “lockdown.”
A source told Us Weekly:
“The hospital has placed two security guards outside of her room and has been instructed to not let anyone that Demi’s mom hasn’t approved to visit her. The entire floor is basically on lockdown with the rooms next to hers remaining vacant to give her the upmost privacy.”
As we reported, a rep for the singer issued a statement saying she is “awake” and “with her family.”
