News broke on Tuesday of the 25-year-old’s hospitalization following an apparent overdose, one that initial reports claimed was apparently caused by heroin.

TMZ is reporting that while law enforcement sources told them it appeared to be heroin that caused the scare, another source of theirs — this one close to Demi — is saying it was not heroin. While the source wouldn’t say which drug was used, it has been reported that Demi’s friends used Narcan to revive her, and Narcan is a drug used to reverse the effects of opioids. According to UsWeekly, a friend had it on hand as they “knew this was coming.”
Meanwhile, The Blast reports that Demi and others at her Hollywood Hills home had been “uncooperative” with first responders concerning drug specifics. TMZ‘s sources seem to agree. LAPD sources also tell The Blast that an “item of evidence” has been collected, and said item reportedly relates to illegal drugs, although it’s unclear which. This incident will apparently not be investigated further, however, as LAPD reportedly does not see it as a criminal situation since there were no actual drugs seized at the scene.
As for her current condition, a rep for Lovato says the singer is “awake and with her family.” The rep also stated some information being reported is incorrect.
