Like a beautiful Christmas tree, Demi Lovato now has her very own angel!
The Cool For The Summer singer is on a roll, getting her second tattoo in less than two weeks on Christmas Eve — her first one since the breakup. Well, probably. Put a pin in that. (Or a tattoo needle.) For now let’s talk about the fresh ink.

Tattoo artist Alessandro Capozzi shared a first look at the black and white back piece on his Instagram page this week, and it is truly spectacular.

This really is the most Demi Lovato tattoo Demi has ever gotten. She commented on the post:
“Thank you so much ?? it’s incredible and you are so extremely talented ??”
It’s true! The Rome-based artist has outdone himself! He wrote:
“For the incredible @ddlovato ? “Divine Feminine” ✨ Destruction Effect ?????
We created this piece together to represent a rebirth of the spirit. The dark wings represent the bad times, their fading away is how she moved forward. The light from within represents the inner strength necessary for the change and the doves, pulling her up, symbolize the reach of an higher state of consciousness. Congratulations on your inspiring journey Demi, honored to have represented this for you.”
Amazing.
Obviously the “inspiring journey” he’s talking about is Demi’s year-plus of living sober, something which has required an immense amount of strength but is all about positivity.
However, we can’t help but point out the ink comes just days after Demi confirmed she and Austin Wilson had broken up after just a few weeks of dating.
The tattoo is too intricate and well-planned to be mercurial post-breakup impulse ink, but we wonder if it adds to the meaning of the upward journey. But what if she did get a breakup tat — and we didn’t realize it because we hadn’t learned of the breakup yet?
We saw this “Survivor” ink just five days before we learned of the split and assumed it was about her sobriety journey.
But what if this was the breakup tattoo??
“Survivor” certainly works as a message for oneself after making it through a relationship implosion.
Of course, this breakup has apparently been amicable — Demi wrote to a fan about it:
“Please don’t go after him. He’s a good guy. Much better than what people see on the outside just because he’s got a lot of tattoos. Breakups are hard for both parties involved. Just stay nice and say prayers”
However, they did both delete all pics of one another from Instagram, so it’s not that amicable.
