Denzel Washington’s Advice To Younger Actor? ‘Leave The Party 30 Minutes Before The Devil Gets There'

Denzel Washington once shared some words of wisdom to a younger actor about the parties in Hollywood…

As we previously reported, a source told Us Weekly on Tuesday that the 69-year-old actor “screamed” at Diddy over his lack of “respect” during a party in the early 2000s. Although there weren’t a lot of details about what caused the strong reaction, the insider noted Denzel and his wife Pauletta Washington “stormed out” of the place after “they had seen something.”

OMG! What did the couple see?!? It is unknown at this time. Given what we know, especially after what has come out since Diddy was arrested for sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, we can only imagine. Denzel has not addressed the report or the Diddy parties… yet. However, 40-year-old comedian and actor Brandon T. Jackson said months ago that The Equalizer star told him to always leave Hollywood soirees early — specifically “before the devil gets there.” Whoa! So chilling! So clearly Denzel followed his own advice and got out of there!

The Percy Jackson alum explained on the Breaking The Machine podcast back in January:

“Denzel always told me, we be at the parties, you leave 30 minutes before the devil gets there. OK? When he would say that, I will always remember that Denzel would leave the parties early, and I followed Denzel out. I’m out. You see what I’m saying? Because when you leave 30 minutes before the devil get there — there ain’t nothing wrong with going to the parties, even Christ partied with the sinners, you know what I mean? But when you leave 30 minutes before the devil get there, you are able to have your integrity.”

Brandon did not share why Denzel gave him that advice. But we have to wonder if the comment was low-key about Diddy, considering everything we’ve heard so far… Per his indictment, the Bad Boy Records founder allegedly hosted “Freak Offs” — sex parties fueled by alcohol and drugs that would last for days at times. Diddy allegedly forced people into non-consensual sex acts and often recorded those encounters. Since his arrest, more and more disturbing details about his alleged nefarious ways have come out. Oof.
