Diddy No Longer On Suicide Watch & Feeling 'Strong' After Family Visited Him In Prison

Diddy No Longer On Suicide Watch – And His Family Has Visited In Prison

Diddy is no longer on suicide watch.

The rapper has been behind bars awaiting trial in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest in mid-September for charges related to sex trafficking. Earlier this month, sources told People that Sean Combs was placed on suicide watch as a preventative measure, which is often used for people who are in shock after an arrest or when their mental state is unclear. It wasn’t immediately known how long he’d been under extra supervision. But now, just about two weeks after his arrest, the musician has been taken off suicide watch, a law enforcement insider confirmed to People on Sunday.

A source also revealed that the Grammy winner has visited with his family at the detention center. It’s unclear exactly what family members showed up to the facility, but he is a dad to seven children: Quincy, Justin, Christian “King,” Chance, Jessie, D’Lila, and Love. We’re sure that was a complicated and emotional visit for whoever attended…

As for how the controversial star is doing while he waits for his next court appearance in early October, one of the musician’s lawyers told the outlet:

“He is focused and very strong. He is concentrating on his defense and preparing for his trial.”

In TMZ Studios’ new documentary, The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, which premiered on Thursday, Puff’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said the 54-year-old will NOT take a plea deal if one is offered, either! Agnifilo noted:

“Well, it’s not up to me. It’s up to Mr. Combs, and I don’t see it happening.”

The Sean John founder is reportedly against a plea because he “believes he’s innocent,” the lawyer added:

“He believes he’s innocent, and what’s more, he believes that he needs to stand up not just for himself, for his family, and for everybody who’s been targeted by the federal government. Mr. Combs feels A. He’s innocent, which is why he’s not gonna plead guilty. B. He’s going to be truthful about this case because he wants to portray that to the people who have loved him his whole life. And I think he also feels an obligation to people in general. Maybe it’s black people. Maybe it’s white people. Maybe it’s anybody who’s ever felt aggrieved and targeted by the government.”

Agnifilo went on:

“He feels an obligation to those people to say, ‘You know, what? Maybe I can break the model. You know, maybe I can show the world that a Black man can win in federal court. I think he probably is the only person I know of who might be able to actually accomplish that.”

Diddy’s legal team has been trying to push the idea that he was a victim of racism, so this narrative tracks. It’s inneresting to hear he feels so “strong” about his case given the increasing amount of allegations, though! We’ll see if he’s acting that confident when the trial really starts!
