After being #1 at the box office for only one week, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was knocked off the top spot by Universal’s Despicable Me with an impressive $60.1 million for its three-day opening.
The 3D animated feature was the big news this weekend as it exceeded expectations and had the biggest opening for an original animated movie not made by Pixar or DreamWorks Animation.
But don’t worry about Eclipse, as it came in #2, raking in another $33.4 million, totaling the film’s cumulative box office numbers to almost $250 million in the first 11 days of release.
Fox’s Predators and Disney‘s Toy Story 3 came in third and fourth places.
Pretty impressive! What did U see this weekend?
