With his new movie X-Men: Days of Future Past just hours away from opening, director Bryan Singer is now filing to have the sexual assault case against him dismissed!
Singer’s attorney filed the papers at a Hawaiian court on Wednesday asking that accuser Michael Egan’s suit be tossed. Egan has claimed that it was at a party in Hawaii when the Hollywood director sexually molested him while he was still underage.
Bryan├óΓé¼Γäós legal team however submitted evidence this week corroborating Singer’s story that he was NOT in Hawaii at the time of the alleged crime!
Furthermore, Singer got his hands on a sworn deposition from Egan dating from 2003 that stated he’d never even BEEN to Hawaii!
Oh mai!
That deposition was in relation to a 2000 sexual abuse lawsuit against a different defendant!
So was Michael Egan making up these horrible allegations?!
Bryan Singer seems to have evidence that he was and that Egan specifically wanted to have his lawsuit coincide with the release of his next blockbuster movie!
Singer’s dismissal motion even officially states it!
Look:
“(The) timing of this action and inclusion of its detailed, sordid (and provably false) allegations are nothing more than tools being used to embarrass, harass, and pressure Singer and precipitate a shakedown of a perceived ├óΓé¼╦£deep pocket├óΓé¼Γäó.├óΓé¼┬¥
We’ll just have to wait to see if the days of this case are put in the past or continue on into the future!
