Disney Unveils Plans For New Movies And Sequels

Disney lovers, get excited! There are a lot of new movies coming your way that seem right up your alley.

The head of the Disney film department, Rich Ross, announced the division’s plans to move forward with some much anticipted projects.

For Pixar fans, two movies have been given release dates. Brave, a “tale of archery and royalty” features the voices of Reese Witherspoon and Billy Connolly and will be released June 15, 2012. Meanwhile, a sequel to Monsters, Inc. is scheduled for the 2012 holiday season, around November 16.

Richy also announced that he has officially greenlighted three live action movies, appealing more to kids, kids at heart, and people who want to have kids with Johnny Depp: Pirates of the Caribbean 4, The Muppets in 2011 and Prom, a tween-targeted flick, in 2012.

Ah, which Disney Channel starlet will have the pleasure of staring in the latter: Selena? Demi maybe?
