Disney Wants Mark Romanek To Direct Their New Cinderella Flick

Mark Romanek is an interesting choice to helm the new Cinderella movie that Disney wants to make, but that’s exactly what they want.

The studio is circling Romanek, the accomplished video director and helmer of the features Never Let Me Go and One Hour Photo, to steer a new version of Cinderella, based on the pitch that The Devil Wears Prada scribe Aline Brosh McKenna sold to Disney last year in a seven-figure deal.

He isn’t locked in quite yet, but One Hour Photo was pretty fantastic and we’d be very innerested in seeing how he does with a public domain fairy tale!

On the flip side of this, how do we really feel that these classic tales are all getting “re-imagined” updates??
