If you’re paying any attention to Donald Trump, you could have seen this coming.
Here’s how this thin-skinned megalomaniac works: you suck up and genuflect to him, he says you’re great. You criticize or disagree with him, he says you’re terrible.
That’s it. Well, mostly.

In the case of the media, he knew ahead of time how bad the coverage would be — you know, because of all the scandals which were going to break. Because he’s been a crook for so many years (Allegedly. In 17 open investigations.).
So in advance he used the dictatorial tactic of calling the press liars and shouting FAKE NEWS all the time, so his followers wouldn’t believe all the bad things coming out. CNN and NBC have borne the brunt of this, but at this point even Fox News can’t ignore ALL the negative stories.
And on Sunday they reported on his losing battle over his stupid wall, and he turned on them like a comic book villain shooting his own henchmen:
Never thought I’d say this but I think @johnrobertsFox and @GillianHTurner @FoxNews have even less understanding of the Wall negotiations than the folks at FAKE NEWS CNN & NBC! Look to final results! Don’t know how my poll numbers are so good, especially up 19% with Hispanics?

***OK, sorry to get sidetracked, but what the hell is that 19%??
Well, it’s apparently from this NPR/PBS Newshour/Marist Poll last week — which does seem to reflect an inexplicable growth in Hispanic support. But PBS has come out since and specifically said because they were not purposely polling Hispanic voters but just a random sampling, the margin for error of a specific subgroup was rather high. However, what the poll intended to measure was overall support by Americans — and found 57% of people said they DEFINITELY WOULD NOT vote for Trump again. So this is just another example of Trump cherrypicking the numbers he likes from polls and calling the rest lies.
Sorry, had to make sense of that, back to Fox…***
Anyway, so Trump went after the network which usually works as a spin machine for him, and for what? Actually reporting the fact he caved to Democrats?
That all his stupid shutdown achieved was hurting government workers and endangering citizens?
That he said he would shut the government down AGAIN if he didn’t get his way??
THOSE ARE FACTS!
Something tells us this isn’t the last time Trump will go after the network. He’s about as loyal as a popped balloon.
In any case, one Fox News anchor refused to stand for the attack, tweeting:
@realDonaldTrump This is NOT right. I stand by my colleagues @johnrobertsFox and @GillianHTurner They don’t deserve this. No reporter does. They are doing their jobs and reporting the facts. They are not opinion journalists and deserve the respect from the @WhiteHouse they cover. https://t.co/ftRPauopjC

For which she got a lot of backlash from the right…
We can and do stand plenty of criticism every day which is fine coming from everyday viewers. Our jobs are not meant to please others. But the office of the @POTUS ought not to be the one lashing out. That’s not how this country works. That’s not how Freedom of the Press works. https://t.co/buakHRRwPO

By going on Twitter and insulting two of our journalists @realDonaldTrump is putting a target on their backs. In turn his followers will then attack @johnrobertsFox and @GillianHTurner in support on Twitter. Bullying journalists is not Presidential. Period. https://t.co/xayShIojYj

…and the left for not speaking up about his tactics against other networks…
I have always stood up for journalists no matter what network they work for. We all should support each other. https://t.co/ABE6UL7XRG

Right…
Just FYI, we couldn’t find any evidence of her speaking up in defense of other journalists apart from when Trump said Mika Brzezinski was “bleeding badly from a face lift.”
Hey, remember how our president once said he saw a reporter he didn’t like “bleeding badly from a face lift”?
