Pope Francis has been one of Donald Trump‘s most vocal critics, so it’s no shock their first face-to-face meeting was a bit cold.
The Pope and POTUS had a 30-minute conversation at the Vatican on Wednesday, in which Francis reportedly “did not smile” as he asked Trump to bring peace to the world.
The Leader of the Catholic Church, who has condemned Trump’s agenda for being un-Christian, offered the President some subtly-shady parting gifts: copies of his published works on climate change, nonviolence, and progressive economics.

The entire stone cold sit down was best summed up by a photo (above) now circulating the internet.
Twitter couldn’t get enough of the Pope’s “lord, help me” look while standing next to the grinning doofus — not to mention, Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump, who were appropriately dressed for the occasion as the angels of death.
