This guy has some SERIOUS explaining to do!
The boys of Duck Dynasty recently did an interview with GQ that was published online, and a few comments by Phil Robertson are rubbing people the wrong way!
He said:
“It seems like, to me, a vagina├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥as a man├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥would be more desirable than a man├óΓé¼Γäós anus. That├óΓé¼Γäós just me. I├óΓé¼Γäóm just thinking: There├óΓé¼Γäós more there! She├óΓé¼Γäós got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I├óΓé¼Γäóm saying? But hey, sin: It├óΓé¼Γäós not logical, my man. It├óΓé¼Γäós just not logical.”
Wow. We don’t even know where to begin here.
Phil claims his beliefs are shaped by his Christian upbringing, however, GLAAD spokesperson Wilson Cruz is NOT buying it!
He responded to the controversial comments, saying:
“Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe. He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and Americans├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples. Phil’s decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors who now need to reexamine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families.”
Preach, brother!
As the GQ article points out, Phil may have gotten a bit too comfortable with no cameras around when he blurted out the offensive comments, but it’s still a little troubling to hear someone in the national spotlight saying something so misinformed.
Maybe next time he’ll remember to watch what he says when he’s hanging out with a reporter who’s taking note of every word that comes out of your mouth!
