Well, we’re not sure the people he’s spoken out against would agree!
Duck Dynasty‘s Phil Robertson has been in some hot water ever since his homophobic and racist comments came out last week.
And while he’s had chances to dig himself out of that hole, he really hasn’t chosen to take that path. Instead, Phil is holding his ground, but claiming it isn’t hateful ground!
While speaking with a Bible study group over the weekend, Phil said:
“I will not give or back off from my path. We are a bunch of rednecks from Louisiana, but I am not uneducated, I have a degree from Louisiana Tech. But this week I have been called an ignoramus. This week I have been asked, ‘Is this the first time you have brought up sin?├óΓé¼Γäó” he recalled during the religious meeting. “I said, ‘Are you kidding? I have been traveling to and fro spreading this message … Well do you invite yourself to go and get your Bible and tell people what you are now sharing with us?’ I said, ‘No they are inviting me.’ I love all men and women. I am a lover of humanity, not a hater … I will not give or back off from my path because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions.”
Uh, love all men and women? Even gay ones? Or ones of other races??
We’re not sure we all have the same definition of love here.
Who knows what will happen with the show and A&E, but we do hope that this whole dramz just might open his eyes to what’s wrong with the not so lovin’ words he’s been spewing.
