Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wasn’t always the sexy beast he is now!
Don’t believe us? During a recent chat with People, the Central Intelligence actor opened up about his teenage years and revealed he had quite the “awkward phase”.

The A-lister dished:
“I had an awkward phase when I was 13, 14 years old. I was trying to find my identity and trying to settle into my identity. I loved sweets. Every day after school I would go get doughnuts and I would go get cookies. I have an adverse reaction to sugar and chocolate, where I would break out in all these pimples. You could just imagine that, with my curly half-Afro.”
Awww! But hey, look at him these days — Johnson was just named the mag’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2016.
So how did the Hollywood hunk go from awkward teen to professional heartbreaker? Dwayne continued:
“Being comfortable in my own skin just took a lot of time. When you finally are comfortable with who you are, warts and all, it really allows for a greater confidence in life. Being comfortable with who I am was probably one of the greatest and best breakthroughs that I’ve ever had in my life.”
LOVES it! Despite his sex symbol status, it seems as though The Rock can still laugh at himself as he was able to poke fun at the nostalgic fanny pack pic he shared on Instagram years ago. He quipped:
“It takes a lot of confidence to rock a fanny pack. Put your thumb in the fanny pack. I’m giving a look…The confidence and the comfort level now, it is what we call in the industry, game over.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Here’s hoping the action stud can keep up his sexy game for years to come — LOLz!
