It’s tough for fans wanting to see the movie, but obviously, the right call is being made.
Maze Runner:The Death Cure will now be released on January 12, 2018 — more than a year after the last release date option — after an announcement was made to move back the date as star Dylan O’Brien continues to recover from injuries sustained on set.

The injuries, which O’Brien received during a shoot back in March, were serious enough to hospitalize the actor at the time — and now, they are so serious combined with the recovery time, that producers feel the need to push the movie back further.
The team released a statement about their decision, saying in part:
“We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible.”
Well, at least he appears to now be on the road to recovery…
And this seems to be a good decision for the entire production, opting to keep O’Brien in the film and do things right by him and everyone involved.
Best wishes all around!
