Toxicology reports confirmed that Joel Taylor died from an ecstasy overdose while he was on a cruise ship earlier this year.
Based on the lab results, the Bureau of Forensic Sciences of Puerto Rico have determined the Storm Chasers star’s cause of death was MDMA poisoning. Traces of ketamine were also found in his system.
As we reported, the 38-year-old was found unresponsive in his cabin aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Harmony of the Seas back in January.

Witnesses said he lost consciousness while dancing and was carried back to his room by two other men. Officials told TMZ he had consumed multiple controlled substances.
Taylor’s death later triggered an FBI investigation in hopes of chasing down whoever supplied the drugs. Multiple people had been arrested for drug possession before the ship left its Fort Lauderdale port.
