More information has surfaced in the tragic and untimely death of Hayden Panettiere.
On Sunday, a rep for the Remember the Titans actress announced the shocking news with a heartbreaking statement from her father Alan Panettiere:
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
As we know, EMS responded to a call regarding an “unresponsive female” experiencing “cardiac arrest” in Greenville, South Carolina on Sunday. According to TMZ, first responders administered “advanced cardiac life support” including CPR, but Hayden was tragically pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m. local time. So, so, SO incredibly tragic.

On Monday, more details surrounding Hayden’s shocking death came into focus following an autopsy performed by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. Coroner Mike Ellis revealed in a statement that “no signs of trauma” have been identified:
“An autopsy was completed today. At autopsy, no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death.”
The coroner went on to reveal Hayden’s “cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies.” He concluded:
“This investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details are available for release at this time.”

The news release also included new details of the 911 call that was placed on Sunday:
“First responders and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and located a female in cardiac arrest. EMS personnel initiated advanced cardiac life support measures; however, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32 p.m.”
The individual, who we know now has been identified as Hayden, was “found unresponsive inside the residence, where she had been temporarily staying.”
It’s so difficult to wrap our minds against this heartbreaking loss.
As we know, a police spokesperson previously informed People their preliminary investigation had “not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.” However, it was reported that medics were sent to the scene to perform CPR on someone who experienced an overdose. And sadly, more overdose evidence has been uncovered.
On Monday, TMZ reported that Narcan, a nasal spray designed to reverse the effect of opioid emergencies, was found on a mattress in the residence where the Ice Princess actress took her final breaths.
TMZ also reported that not one but two ambulances responded to the apartment, indicating the potential that two people required medical intervention. As of now it remains unclear who was with Hayden. That being said, the outlet has since reported the Scream star’s tumultuous ex Brian Hickerson had been staying at the residence as well. It is unclear if he was there at the time of her passing.
Our hearts are completely broken for Hayden’s 11-year-old daughter Kaya and all of her loved ones. May she rest in peace.
