Well that didn’t take long!
As you surely know, JAY-Z dropped his latest album 4:44 on Friday — and on the deeply-personal track Kill Jay Z, the 47-year-old compares his own extramarital indiscretions to Eric Ben├â┬⌐t‘s highly-publicized transgressions during his two-year marriage to Halle Berry.
In the song, the Beyonc├â┬⌐‘s husband raps:
“You almost went Eric Ben├â┬⌐t / Let the baddest girl in the world get away/ I don’t even know what else to say / N****, never go Eric Ben├â┬⌐t”
As a refresher, the Sometimes I Cry singer — who married Prince‘s ex-wife, Manuela Testolini, in 2011 — entered rehab for sex addiction in hopes of rekindling his relationship with Miz Berry, which officially ended in 2003.

He later told People:
“We all know I cheated. It was out there. It’s a betrayal. But I never did have sexual intercourse with anyone while I was with Halle. Going into rehab was presented to me by her mother that in order for the marriage to have a shot, this is what you need to do├óΓé¼┬ª. But I’m not a sex addict. I wanted to save my marriage and do anything necessary to do that. I went and heard other people’s stories and realized this is really not my struggle.”
After catching wind of JAY’s shout-out the first track of 4:44, Eric immediately responded (literally two hours after it dropped) on Twitter:
