Kevin Durant Was NOT Happy About Being Roasted In Peyton Manning's ESPYs Monologue -- See The Funny Memes & More Show Highlights!

Kevin Durant can make shots, but he can’t take them!
At least that was the case during Wednesday night’s ESPY Awards, when the basketball pro was seriously not impressed about being mocked in Peyton Manning‘s opening monologue!

The former Denver Broncos QB and ESPYs host fired off a few jokes to open the ceremony, telling the crowd that the Women’s Gymnastics Final Five — Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian, and Aly Raisman — were “so dominant” at the summer Olympics that “Kevin Durant told me he wants to play for them next year,” adding:

“I’ve got to tell ya. I don’t think he’d start for that team.”

LOLz!!
The camera cut to the NBA star (who has been criticized for joining the Golden State Warriors this past season as many believed it was just to win a championship) sitting in the audience, and his hilariously displeased reaction made it clear he did not appreciate being roasted.
Add Durant’s face with the fact that he was strikingly underdressed for the event — rocking a T-shirt while surrounded by tuxes and dresses — and it’s no surprise the moment became an instant meme:

The athlete’s response on Twitter summed it up quite perfectly:

Ha!
While the Durant diss may have been the funniest part of the night, other moments during the ESPYs evoked more serious emotion — like Michael Phelps gushing over his wife in an awww-inducing acceptance speech!
After winning the Award for Best Record-Breaking Performance for breaking the record for Olympic gold medals, the athlete gave a sweet birthday shout out to his “amazing” love Nicole Johnson. Watch (below)!

The night’s most powerful moment, however, came when Michelle Obama (obviously!) honored the late Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, sparking a standing ovation from the crowd.

Before presenting the award to Shriver’s son Timothy, and being joined by special Olympians on stage, the former First Lady told the audience:

“I am here tonight to honor a remarkable woman, a woman who believed that everyone has something to contribute and everyone deserves a chance. When we give others the chance to fulfill their greatest potential, we all win. Through her passionate service, she made our world more welcoming, inclusive and fair.”

Ugh. FLOTUS, how we miss you!
