Social media usually connects people.
Sometimes it reconnects people.
And then sometimes it plays a part in special stories such as this!
Nia Edwards hadn’t seen her older sister in a LONG time! 18 years if you wanna be exact!
She had tried a lot of social media sites including Facebook and MySpace, but it was finally Instagram that did the trick!
When she spotted what she thought might be her older sister Brenda‘s page, she immediately commented to see if her hypothesis was true.
Here’s what she wrote on the Instagram picture’s comments:
“Hey I’m ur sister nia Edwards I haven’t. Seen u since I was 4 0r 5…If u are Brenda Edwards daughter of Milton Edwards I love you sis ;)”
Well, her big sis responded, and it was all love! Here’s what she wrote:
“Yes lil lady I have been looking for you, love you too do you have a phone”
The two exchanged phone numbers after that, and they totally got together after that!
Nia, however, isn’t done! She’s hoping to use Instagram or other forms of social media to find her other siblings! And she’s already found her older brother! The two are planning a get together for this summer!
Here’s what Nia said about meeting her sister. She said:
“Even though we just met, it feels like we’ve known each other forever. They say me and Brenda kind of resemble (each other).”
Aww! Who knew Instagram could be something more than a guilty pleasure!
Well, we all know that now!
