The deadites are coming…but not until 2013!
Last we heard about the Evil Dead remake, Sony Pictures had made a distribution deal for the FilmDistrict/Ghost House Pictures flick.
Now, we’re hearing that the film has officially been given a release date of April 12, 2013!
We’ve also learned some new story details! In this version of the cult classic horror flick, a group of friends travel to a remote cabin where they find the Book of the Dead. After the book is read, the group must “fight to survive when a demonic force is unleashed.”
Oh, and this time the movie will have a drug-themed subplot, because Bruce Campbell the main character brings his sister to the cabin to help her get off drugs.
As we’ve said a few times before, we’re going into this one cautiously optimistic because the original Evil Dead crew is producing it…and because Diablo Cody did work on the screenplay.
…We’d feel a WHOLE LOT better about it if they signed on Bruce Campbell to reprise his role as Ash though! We can’t imagine who’ll be able to play that character like he did!!!!
