As post-election political rantings are taking over social media, Facebook is apparently trying to do population control.
A glitch on the social media site triggered memorial alerts at the top of many users’ pages on Friday — including that of CEO Mark Zuckerberg!

The notices began to appear at around 3:45 p.m. EST and came complete with some heavy wording, for instance:
“Remembering Mark Zuckerberg. We hope people who love Mark will find comfort in the things others share to remember and celebrate his life. Learn more about memorialized accounts and the legacy contact setting on Facebook.”
Yikes!
The company hasn’t explained just what caused the glitch — but after the apocalyptic week we just had, it seems like a social media rapture couldn’t come at a better time.
See what the affected users had to say about the eerie anomaly (below):

Super awkward. Just got a @Facebook notification prompting me to change my account to a memorialized one. Why does fb think I’m dead?

Check your Facebook profiles. It probably says you’re dead, too.
