There’s been a LOT of chatter surrounding Wicked — even more for its wild press tour than the film itself. And the conversations are far from over!
Fans are certain there’s some romantic trouble boiling behind the scenes, but this time it has nothing to do with Ariana Grande‘s controversial relationship with Ethan Slater! This time, people are convinced she’s wrecking ANOTHER home! They think Cynthia Erivo‘s girlfriend has beef with the Glinda portrayer.

In a viral TikTok, user @nayabayybe explains the situation with Cynthia’s GF Lena Waithe:
“Ship is so good, it’s got the other person’s partner worried. So apparently, according to the grapevine, the grapevine being the internet, Lena Waithe, who is Cynthia Erivo’s partner, has been making some kind of cryptic post.”
The video creator went on to share some screen grabs of Lena’s Instagram Stories, where she posted a photo of Ariana and Paul Mescal talking about the Wicked press tour. The pop star jokingly called her interactions with Cynthia “insufferable” — and fans think Lena sharing this means she agrees!
Another interesting point the TikToker brought up is how the One Last Time songstress shared a photo of herself and the Elphaba portrayer, calling her “sister”. Fans think this could be a dig at a past post Cynthia made of Lena, also calling her “sis” before they were together. A bit of a reach, maybe — but after this, Lena posted something else to raise an eyebrow at.
In her Stories, she shared a quote which read:
“Maturity in a relationship is when you catch your mind as it is creating a false story about your partner, which is based on inner tension …”
Oh man…

After this video took the internet by storm, fans noticed how annoyed Lena looked in a picture from the Golden Globes. A user on X (Twitter) wrote:
