Old footage of Diddy meticulously patting down Justin Bieber has surfaced… And fans now think he was checking the pop star for a wire!
Over three years ago, the Peaches singer posted a video of himself and the disgraced rapper both sporting merch from his Drew House brand — him a baseball cap, and Diddy a hoodie. The two lock hands in a handshake-turned-hug, before the Bad Boy Records founder diligently pats Justin’s chest and leans in to whisper something into his ear — seemingly a question, as J.B. appears to shake his head “no.”
It’s not clear what was said, but the Baby singer looks noticeably uncomfortable throughout the interaction. He barely even looks Diddy in the eye! Watch (below):

In the wake of Diddy’s legal issues, the clip has gone viral on social media with many fans speculating the I’ll Be Missing You rapper was patting Justin down for a wire… Possibly because of “paranoia” that Justin was trying to expose him?? Maybe he was worried about an investigation even then?
On X (Twitter), fans were QUICK to let their opinions be known:

“Trying to play it safe, nothing more”
“Yikes he was [checking for a wire]! I mean he’s groping him come on!”
“Playing it safe .. usually mean u guilty otherwise”
Others, however, felt a “wire” is outdated in terms of modern technology and that Diddy was just… being touchy feely:
“If he is checking for a wire it’s 2024 I’m sure they dnt tape it to ya chest anymore”
“It would be in the hat, not like in the movies taped to his chest.”
“Ya yall believe this. Having a phone is all you need. yall think there still using a mic on the chest”

Others felt it was weird the Never Say Never singer said “love you” to Diddy, but that’s just in retrospect after Diddy’s arrest on sex trafficking charges and accusations of sexually abusing minors. Fans have also been going through other eerie footage that’s reemerged of the two when Justin was just a teen.
As for now, Justin has reportedly been advised to “stay as far away as possible” from anything Diddy-related… So we don’t think we’ll be hearing HIS take on the footage anytime soon.
