Felicity Huffman Released From Prison After Serving Just 10 DAYS!

Felicity Huffman released prison.

Felicity Huffman is a free woman after spending a grueling week and a half behind bars!

According to reports, the Desperate Housewives alum was released from the Federal Correctional Institution Dublin on Friday, October 25 — a mere 10 days after starting her sentence on October 15.

As you might have calculated, the actress was released early from her 14 day prison sentence. That’s not a celeb perk: apparently, if an inmate’s release date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the Bureau of Prisons are allowed to release the inmate on the last preceding weekday.

This is usually standard, unless it’s necessary to detain the inmate for another jurisdiction seeking custody under a detainer or another vital reason. But, as we reported, Felicity was an exemplary inmate, so it’s no surprise she was treated to an early release.

Really, the 56-year-old has been cooperative from the start of this whole scandal, which saw her pleading guilty to her involvement in the nationwide college admissions scheme over five months ago. Of the dozens of parents accused of illegally paying admissions consultants to guarantee their children’s acceptance into elite universities, William H. Macy’s wife was the first to begin her prison sentence.

Huffman told the judge she has taken “full responsibility” for paying $15,000 to William “Rick” Singer so a SAT proctor could fix her daughter’s exam, writing in a letter:

In my desperation to be a good mother I talked myself into believing that all I was doing was giving my daughter a fair shot. I see the irony in that statement now because what I have done is the opposite of fair. I have broken the law, deceived the educational community, betrayed my daughter, and failed my family… As painful as this has been, I am truly grateful for the lessons I have learned and for opportunity to change and live more honestly. I am now focusing on repairing my relationship with my daughter, my family and making amends to my community.”

Let the redemption arc commence!

Of course, Huff’s not done with her sentence yet: she’s now expected to complete 250 hours of community service, serve one year of supervised release, and pay a $30,000 fine.

Meanwhile, fellow celeb parent Lori Loughlin awaits trial for her own alleged involvement in the nationwide scheme.

It was said the Fuller House star and her husband Mossimo Giannulli could possibly get a plea deal due to Huffman’s light sentence — but we have a feeling Aunt Becky will be spending longer than a fortnight in the slammer.
