Can you believe it’s been three decades since Matthew Broderick charmed his way into our lives playing the lovable, school-ditching Ferris Bueller in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?
Fans are about to celebrate the film’s huge milestone with a festival called Ferris Fest: A 30th Anniversary Leisure Weekend that will take place in and around Chicago in late May!

The event will be hosted by movie critic Richard Roeper and will include a screening of the film at the John and Nancy Hughes Theater in Lake Forest and a two-part bus tour of filming locations including Cameron’s house, the Art Institute, the Glenbrook North High School parking lot, a Lake Michigan overlook, Dearborn Street, and Willis Tower.
The fest is also planning on recreating Bueller’s Twist and Shout parade sequence and showing off a replica of Ferris’ room created by artists Sarah Keenlyside and Joe Clement.
If that’s not enough there’s also going to be a special Q&A with costars Cindy Pickett and Lyman Ward, who played Ferris’ parents as well as the actor who played the French restaurant maitre d’, Jonathan Schmock.

If you’re holding out for any of the three main stars Broderick, Mia Sara, or Alan Ruck to show up, there’s still a chance as the festival is “currently in talks with more stars and production members.”
As for Jeffrey Jones who played Principal Rooney, we’re not sure we want him there….
The tickets range in price depending on what you want to do, but you can get your hands on them HERE!
Life moves pretty fast. Will you stop and look around this May — or will you miss it?!
