Firefighters in Lacey, Washington responded to a mobile home fire late last week.
The crew was skilled and got the blaze under control pretty quickly, but that’s when they spotted a family of hamsters!
They quickly got Oreo, Madonna, and their three babies outside.

The firefighters busted out their “pet emergency pocket guides” and got to work treating the little hamsters with oxygen and first aid.
The fire department later tweeted:
“Yes. Our crews are trained and specially equipped to care for animals that have been rescued from a house fire.”
That’s so amazing! They were able to save all but one of the hamsters.
Sad that they couldn’t save them all but it’s pretty impressive they were able to use oxygen to bring back most of the pets.
The fire was apparently started in a clothes dryer in the laundry room, so remember, don’t leave your home with your dryer running.
Especially if you have pets at home.
