Consider this yet ANOTHER reason why Pixar is amazing!
After releasing twelve animated films, the studio has brought on a female director for the first time, and the project looks awesome.
Brenda Chapman is both directing AND writing Pixar’s thirteenth film, Brave, which is slated for release on June 15, 2012.
Here’s a description of the film from Disney press release:

The impetuous, tangle-haired Merida, though a daughter of royalty, would prefer to make her mark as a great archer. A clash of wills with her mother compels Merida to make a reckless choice, which unleashes unintended peril on her father’s kingdom and her mother’s life. Merida struggles with the unpredictable forces of nature, magic and a dark, ancient curse to set things right.

The voice cast includes Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, and Julie Walters.
We’re excited!
Will U go see the first female-directed Pixar film?
