He’s saying bye bye to Green Bay for good!
Brett Favre has been traded to the New York Jets.
On Wednesday, Favre confirmed that he was considering a move to the Jets or Tampa Bay’s Buccaneers:
“We’re working on it. Hopefully we can get something resolved. I’ve been saying that for quite a while now. I don’t want to say we’re running out of time, but I need to get into a camp somewhere.”
Woody Johnson, the Jets’ chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement about Favre, “He represents a significant addition to this franchise and reflects our commitment to putting the best possible product on the field.”
The final split between the Packers and Favre became obvious Tuesday night. The Packers’ coach told reporters that after extensive conversations with Favre over two days, he had determined that Favre doesn’t have the right mind-set to play for the Packers.
We feel bad for you Cheeseheads. You’ve had to mourn the ‘passing’ of Favre…twice!
Just for that, we hope y’all get to the Superbowl!
