Congratulations are in order for former Bachelor Ben Higgins!

On Sunday, the beloved ABC star announced he and girlfriend Jessica Clarke are now officially engaged after over a year of dating. Yay!

Clarke shared the happy news in an Instagram post on Sunday, where she gushed about finally getting to live her dream as the next Mrs. Higgins alongside photos of their proposal. She wrote:

“I don’t remember everything you said, but I know that I said yes. I woke up in a dream today and I get to live in this dream every day from now on (eeeep)”

As seen here:

Awww. This is such wonderful news!

Higgins has not yet posted on his feed, but he did share plenty of special details about popping the question with Entertainment Tonight. It all went down at Jessica’s place in Franklin, Tennessee, and he explained how their families were able to share the special moment with them:

“I went back to a pond behind her house, and we had set it up with sunflowers near a bench. It’s right in their backyard, but a little hidden. I proposed and her family and mine were watching from a distance, and then we all celebrated together.”

The original plan involved getting down on one knee in scenic Central Park, but social-distancing measures due to the coronavirus outbreak obviously put a pin in those plans. The 31-year-old continued:

“I was super nervous. She’s my best friend, my partner and I love her. I was nervous to kind of do this whole thing in front of her. I wasn’t anxious, it’s just a big moment!”

This news comes more than two years since Ben ended his engagement with Bachelor season 20 winner Lauren Bushnell, who is now happily married to country music singer Chris Lane. We’re glad to hear the reality TV star has finally found his lifelong partner, too.

The now-engaged couple made their relationship official back in February 2019 and shortly after going public, Ben revealed on his Almost Famous podcast he actually slid in his now-fiancée’s DMs. And then, as they say, the rest was history! Such modern love.

It’s only been a few days but congratulatory messages from stars within the franchise have already come pouring in!

Ben’s podcast co-host Ashley Iaconetti was among the first to chime in with well wishes, writing:

“I’m soooo happy for you guys!!! Your love is so beautiful! I’m so glad you found each other! Look at what Instagram did!!”

“Do you have a sister? Asking for a friend,” quipped Nick Viall, who’s famously been single for so long despite a few high-profile rumored relationships and multiple televised attempts at finding love. We get why he’s asking for tips, ha!

Former Bachelorette Becca Kufrin also gushed over the engagement, adding:

“So flipping happy for you two and can’t wait to celebrate with so much champagne! Your love, support and respect for one another is beautiful, and I can’t wait to see where this life will take you together.”

One of Higgins’ former flames Becca Tilley offered her ex and his bride-to-be some sweet words, too, writing:

“Y’all are the best!!! I am so thrilled for both of you! Congratulations!”

And even more emoji-filled supportive comments were added by alums including Wells Adams, Blake Horstmann, Cassie Randolph, Jared Haibon, Danielle Maltby, Caelynn Miller-Keyes, Kristina Schulman, Raven Gates, and Kendall Long.

We wish the happy couple all the best and good luck with those post-coronavirus wedding plans, too!
