That was quick!
Lionsgate has locked in a replacement for Hunger Games director Gary Ross — just two weeks after he told the studio to kiss his ass he wasn’t sticking around for the sequel.
The two final tributes in the running for the job were Constantine and Water for Elephants director, Francis Lawrence, and Bennett Miller who directed last years Oscar nominated flick, Moneyball.
The Catching Fire director has been declared, and the winner is… Francis Lawrence!
Apparently, the decision came down to one simple thing: who was free to direct a movie this fall. LOL!
Are we disappointed they didn’t convince Joss Whendon to take the gig? YES!!
Still, we’re sure the I Am Legend filmmaker is gonna do great fine!
