We all know Frank Ocean by his nautical stage moniker…
Well, the 27-year-old tried to get his name legally changed to his famous nom de plume, but the courts just wouldn’t allow it.
That’s because Christopher Breaux, (Frank’s birth name) has a pretty bad history of breaking the law on the road.
So bad in fact, that a judge denied his name change request — but did tell Chris that once his record is cleaned up a bit, he can officially become Frank Ocean for realz.

And what are the offenses keeping Frank landlocked? In just the three short months this past summer, the rapper was busted for driving with expired insurance, driving without his headlights on, and for going more than 30 mph over the speed limit!
None of these are that terrible of crimes, so we bet we’ll see the name switch pretty soon.
